PRO-LIFE

DESCRIPTION OF MINISTRY

The Ministry promotes the sanctity of human life from conception until natural death. Pro- life activities and programs focus on education, legislative advocacy, and direct support to women in crisis pregnancy situations and prayer. Other areas of concern include post abortion healing and euthanasia.

Every human life is "a manifestation of God in the world, a sign of his presence, a trace of his glory....in man there shines forth a reflection of God himself." -- Pope John Paul II

MISSION STATEMENT

Following the teachings of Jesus Christ and ignited by the Spirit of God, we shall

    1. Foster a reverence for the dignity and sanctity of all human life from conception to natural death and
    2. Defend life for the most vulnerable among us: the unborn, the disabled, the elderly, the sick, the dying, and the condemned.

Objectives (Desired Outcomes):

  • Celebration of life as God's first and most precious gift to us.
  • Protection of the right to life as the very first and most basic human right.
  • Respect for the unborn child as a unique, individual person from the moment of conception.
  • Appreciation of the disabled as individuals, possessing special gifts and talents.
  • Regard for the elderly, and for their life experiences, as important sources of advice and direction to support and guide life in society.
  • Reverence for the sick and the dying as they gain wisdom through their suffering and pray for the salvation of the world.
  • Recognition of the worthiness of the life of the condemned.

Activities:

We shall have activities for each of the four areas:
