BEREAVEMENT

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED TO HELP WITH THE ABOVE FOR EXPANSION OF THIS MINISTRY. Any one interested in this Ministry please contact Diane Dellinger. 736-1737

DESCRIPTION OF THE MINISTRY

" Grief is not a problem to be cured. It is simply a statement that you have loved someone". Doris Sanford

The ministry provides comfort, support, and guidance for the newly bereaved of the parish by listening sympathetically, offering literature on grief issues, bereavement counseling and providing information about support groups.

Other aspects of this Ministry could be expanded to include the following if more volunteer help were available:

  •   Mass cards can be sent after the death of a loved one
  •   Follow up information on grief issues can be sent to the bereaved family at specified times during the 1st year of grief.
  •   Cards could be sent to the family at time of 1st anniversary of the Death of the loved one and other occasions through the first year of grief.
  •   Memorial services can be held once or twice a year for families to remember their loved one.
  •   Grief support group can be established for our parish.

The Healing Corner

The sharing of information, stories, and articles on grief issues will be included in the Church Bulletin.  It is hoped that the information shared will be of hope and comfort
